It seems like Justin Bieber’s fame and success happened overnight, but the truth is Justin has
been working toward stardom for years. His mum, Pattie, says Justin has been into music since he was 5 years old.
“He’d hear something on the radio and go to the keyboard to figure it out.”

After winning second place in a local talent competition when he was 12, Justin put his
performance on YouTube to share with friends and family that couldn’t attend the talent show.
Soon, Justin’s videos were getting tones of attention and caught the eye of his current music
manager, Scooter. With hot singles like “One Time” and “One Less Lonely Girl”, Justin is music’s
hottest new artist, which is sometimes hard for him to believe!
“I’m from a small town and never dreamed posting videos on YouTube could change my life. Thank You so much to my fans. You guys did this for me and I am eternally grateful.”

When Justin entered his first talent show when he was 12, he didnt know it would be a turning
point in his life.
“It was nothing huge. I just thought it would be fun.”

Inspired by the 1990s boy band Boys II Men, Justin practiced dance moves and what he calls
‘vocal acrobatics’ in his bedroom. After building an unexpected fan base off of his YouTube
videos, getting signed to a record deal and shooting music videos, Justin is right where he
wants to be.
“I really love being the centre of attention. Being able to sing and dance is just awesome.”

Justin is dedicated to his career even when his life isn’t always glamorous.
“I’m living out of my suitcase. I’m traveling and haven’t been home in over 6 months. It’s a tough business.”

Releasing his debut albumm, ‘My World’, is a dream come true for this 16 year old who took time
to make it something the fans will love.
“I think my album is a fun album. I don’t have a favourite song on my album, but there are a lot of cool songs on it.”

Justin is adjusting to getting recognised in unusual places!
“I was on a plane and these girls were like ‘Are you Justin Bieber?’ It was surreal.”

Justin says anyone’s dreams are possible. “Follow your dreams. You can do anything you set your mind to.”
